Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a ServiceNow CMDB Data Manager to oversee and maintain the integrity and accuracy of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) within a global IT infrastructure. This role is pivotal in supporting IT Service Management (ITSM) processes, ensuring data governance, and driving operational efficiency through accurate configuration data.

The successful candidate will collaborate with diverse teams to uphold data quality, align CMDB processes with ITIL best practices, and support strategic business goals.


Key Responsibilities

CMDB Management

  • Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date data for all Configuration Items (CIs) and their relationships.
  • Establish, document, and enforce CMDB data management standards and processes.
  • Integrate CMDB activities with change, incident, and problem management processes.


Data Quality and Governance

  • Develop and execute strategies to ensure data quality, including auditing and cleansing routines.
  • Proactively identify and resolve data discrepancies to maintain a reliable CMDB.
  • Work collaboratively to ensure adherence to data governance policies.

Stakeholder Collaboration and Training

  • Act as the key point of contact for CMDB-related queries and enhancements.
  • Partner with IT teams, project managers, and business stakeholders to align CMDB with operational needs.
  • Educate and train teams on the importance of CMDB processes and data accuracy.

Reporting and Analysis

  • Generate insightful reports and dashboards to monitor CMDB health and key performance indicators.
  • Use data analysis to support decision-making, operational efficiency, and risk management efforts.

Compliance and Audit

  • Ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements.
  • Maintain detailed audit trails for all CMDB updates and changes.


Qualifications and Experience

Educational Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Data Management, or a related discipline.

Experience Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in Configuration Management, IT Asset Management, or ITSM roles.
  • Demonstrated experience managing CMDBs within an ITIL framework.
  • Strong expertise with ServiceNow CMDB.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to design and deliver training materials to promote CMDB best practices.
