The responsibilities of the Outsourcing Analyst is supporting the Outsourcing Manager in managing relationships with our outsourced partners each month and analytically and critically reviewing it. Additionally, taking minutes of meetings, logging and following up on actions, and working closely with the Outsourcing Manager to provide regular status updates and escalate any issues which may arise.


To be successful as an Outsourcing Analyst, you should demonstrate a persistent focus on quality, great analytical focus, and crystal-clear communication skills. You will be a well organised individual who is able to work under pressure, with a strong drive to successfully define and deliver continuous improvement.


Key responsibilities


Outsourcing Analyst


  • To develop strong relationships with our outsourced service providers (OSPs), in line with Scottish Friendly’s policy and framework.
  • To establish good working relationships with OSP to allow for effective oversight and monitoring relationship.
  • Ownership and accountability of the OSP incident and breach processes in alignment with regulatory requirements and due diligence.
  • Maintaining OSP related records (incident and breaches etc) within Scottish Friendly’s enterprise risk system.
  • Analyse and evaluate monthly management information (MI) received from OSPs and provide updates with key stakeholders.
  • Supporting colleagues in the day-to-day management with multiple critical local and international OSPs ensuring the delivery of contractual obligations.
  • Proactively identify and manage outsourcing risks and contribute to risk reporting and the development of controls to ensure that appropriate information is presented to key stakeholders, senior management and Board.
  • Support the development and rollout of continuous improvement and regulatory change projects.



Operational Resilience


  • Support Outsourcing Manager to ensure the accurate documenting of a scenario test output is maintained.
  • Support Outsourcing Manager to work across Scottish Friendly to identify emerging vulnerabilities and co-ordinate and track a plan for closure.
  • Support Outsourcing Manager to do an annual review of self-assessment document.
  • Support Outsourcing Manager to manage regular review cycle of the process maps.
  • Support Outsourcing Manager to plan and prepare for ISBC Committee.
  • Support Outsourcing Manager to work with Head of Infrastructure and Security to ensure operational resilience continues to be fully embedded within Scottish Friendly’s BAU processes including disaster recovery and business continuity and business management.
  • Support Outsourcing Manager to work with the Change team to ensure operational resilience impacts are considered and fully addressed throughout the Change management lifecycle.


  • Qualifications and skills


  • Experience within the life and pensions industry.
  • Experience working in a fast paced, technology, IT, and regulated environment.
  • Preferred direct third-party supplier, or experience overseeing OSPs.
  • Understanding of outsourcing regulations.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Detail orientated with ability to manage multiple workloads.
  • Data analysis skills and be able to compile insightful reporting from a variety internal and external source and for a variety of audiences.
  • Experience in continuous improvement and process development with respect to operations or outsourcing is an advantage.
