Salary: £63,900+ (Depending on skills and experience)

What you’ll be doing:

  • You will provide leadership within the Procurement team and create an environment for high performing teams and individuals through setting robust SMART objectives, providing ongoing performance feedback and development planning
  • You will lead relationships with suppliers that encourage collaboration and sharing to foster creative and innovative business solutions
  • You are accountable for the Procure-To-Pay process for the assigned workpackage, working as a key member of the Procurement Delivery team
  • You will champion the development and implementation of Procurement strategy, governance and innovative change programmes, ensuring consistency and effective improvement in procurement services, embedding a culture of continuous improvement and the sharing of best practices
  • You will be seen by internal and external stakeholders as a subject expert and primary leader for the Procurement team within a business. Role holder will provide expertise, regularly partnering with others to meet strategic goals
  • You are going to implement and utilise all available tools and techniques, including relevant and applicable KPI’s to ensure effective monitoring of supplier performance and leading any associated improvement plans/good practice share

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • MCIPS or equivalent professional qualification and/or Qualified to Degree standard or equivalent
  • Significant experience working within Supply Chain and/or, in a manufacturing aerospace or defence environment
  • Possess a high standard of Supply Chain/Procurement competence in key areas of Sourcing, Process Knowledge, Contracting Skills and Supplier Management, Commercial Acumen, Risk and Opportunity Management, Data Analytics, Functional Awareness and Strategy Development
  • Have demonstrable skills and knowledge in Data & Analytics shown through awareness of the Air Procurement ERP systems, Tableau experience and a proven ability to communicate via all media
  • Ability to develop and lead a high performing team, enabling a positive working culture that embraces diversity of thought
  • Ability to synthesise data to identify root cause and inform robust strategic business decisions

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Tableau/ERP/Infor/LN systems highly desirable

The Procurement Performance Avionics Delivery Team:

The team specialises in cockpit electronics for aircraft including the F-35, Typhoon, Tornado, and Hawk, focusing on essential technologies that support pilot operations. The team manages both the enhancement and development of these critical systems, ensuring continuous advancements that optimise performance and safety. Additionally, they handle the supply chain coordination for these electronic commodities, ensuring timely and efficient delivery across various projects.

This role offers extensive travel within the UK, alongside opportunities for overseas travel, allowing team members to engage with global suppliers and stakeholders. This team is pivotal in maintaining high standards for avionics across multiple aircraft platforms, contributing significantly to mission success and operational excellence.
