Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Procurement Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for representing the Procurement Function in Critical Customer Reviews and managing an Order Book on behalf of the Customer to drive critical requirements through the Supplier facing Buying Teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage an Order Book on behalf of the Customer to drive critical requirements through the Supplier facing Buying Teams
  • Represent the Procurement Function in Critical Customer Reviews
  • Escalate issues from the Customer into the Supplier Management Teams to manage urgent adhoc requirements and performance improvements where needed
  • Escalate Procurement issues into the Customer & Supply Chain Teams to improve responsiveness
  • Manage adherence to Governance, Policy and Processes to achieve compliance to customer, product, legal and business requirements
  • Support Tactical resolution of issues which are preventing a customer requirement from being delivered

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Extensive Procurement experience, preferably in a high volume, fast paced aerospace or manufacturing market
  • Professional knowledge and understanding of Procurement and Supply Chain Management principles and practices including an understanding of the impact and implications of decisions made to stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Working knowledge of Supply Chain orderbook management including raising Purchase Orders and managing them through to successful delivery
  • A proven ability to collaborate, fostering close & trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders, enhanced by excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A Continuous Improvement mind-set with proven examples of identifying new ideas that drive improvement, problem solving and working collaboratively with others to identify a solution ideally within a Procurement (or similar) environment
  • Ability to compile data, analyse and propose recommendations through reports and presentations

Desirable:

  • Tableau dashboarding
  • Demonstrative working understanding of tool sets and IT such as ERP/ MRP (Materials Resource Planning) systems

The Air Procurement Delivery Business Partner Team plays a critical role in driving procurement excellence across the organization. Acting as trusted advisors, the team partners with senior stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of essential procurement hardware and services, while communicating progress in high-level reviews. The team leads the deployment of procurement strategies that align with business objectives, leveraging a multi-functional group of experts, executives, and professionals. Focused on collaboration and results, the team ensures procurement capabilities meet project demands and deliver value across the business.
