We are seeking a talented freelance marketing consultant to support the marketing efforts of Pathways - our flagship programme aimed at advancing women of colour into senior leadership roles. The consultant will play a crucial role in raising awareness, promoting the programme, and attracting potential mentors, and mentees.


Responsibilities:


Marketing strategy development:

  • Collaborate with the Pathways Programme Manager and Managing Director to develop an effective marketing strategy to raise awareness of the programme and attract new clients.
  • Conduct market research to identify target audiences, key messaging and channels for reaching customers.
  • Provide recommendations for marketing tactics, campaigns and initiatives to maximise visibility and engagement.


Content Creation and branding:

  • Creative compelling and persuasive marketing content, including website copy, email campaigns and promotional materials.
  • Work closely with the Social Media intern to brief and produce strong social media for the Programme.
  • Develop storytelling narratives and case studies to showcase the impact of the Pathways Programme.


Monitoring & Reporting

  • Monitor and analyse marketing campaign performance and provide insights and recommendations for optimisation.


Event Marketing:

  • Develop marketing strategies to promote Pathways Programme events, such as conferences, workshops, and networking sessions.
  • Create event-specific marketing materials, including event pages, invitations, and promotional content.


Public relations & media outreach

  • Identify opportunities for media coverage, press releases, and thought leadership articles to increase visibility and credibility
  • Build relationships with relevant media outlets, journalists, and influencers.
  • Support in crafting key messages and talking points for media interviews and public speaking engagements.


Requirements

  • Proven experience as a marketing consultant or in a similar role, preferably in the nonprofit or diversity and inclusion sector.
  • Strong understanding of marketing principles, strategies, and tactics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling content
  • Proficiency in digital marketing, social media management, and analytics tools
  • Familiarity with branding, public relations, and event marketing
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Passionate about talent advancement, diversity, equity, inclusion, and women's empowerment.
