Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Dalkeith, is currently looking to recruit a Programme Manager for an initial 6 month contract on a rate of up to £445.11/day (Inside IR35). This role will be a hybrid of working at home and in the office.


Responsibilities:


- Lead accountability for the planning and delivery of the Transition Programme.

- Lead and direct programmes, sub programmes, project planning and management, including the creation and maintenance of an overall plan, funding requirements, risk register, and dependency register to ensure alignment to the corporate plan and the organisation’s New Body Implementation Project plan.

- Define and support project, sub programme and programme governance structures to ensure clear accountabilities and ownership for projects and to enable decision making within the organisation and in governance groups.

- Implement and support project financial (cost and benefit) processes providing guidance and support in this area to Project Managers/Sponsors to inform and progress the development of business cases /rationale for improvements.

- Lead project and programme assurance activities with programme managers and project leads, as appropriate, to ensure adherence to standards and utilisation of best practice within the organisation and within the programme.

- Provide programme and project performance monitoring and reporting as required.


Essential Skills:


- Strong programme management skills, ensuring a robust process is implemented and strategic connections are made.

- Has enough nous to be able to sort out opinions and provide an evidence base for their advice.

- Ability to look at the activities of the project and the organisation at a complex level, able to make sensible recommendations about how they can be rearranged.

- Can draw out requirements, surface tensions and bring OD expertise as applied in the education and skills sector.

- A basic understanding of the parameters that public sector organisations have to work within.
