This role will sit within our Nidec Industrial Solutions (NIS) department.



Summary of Role:


This role will focus on ensuring parts are procured for the manufacturing process on time and in addition to securing the best price, quantity and quality.

This role will report to the Customer Service Manager and work closely with the Engineering team to make sure the process runs smoothly and avoids delay. With the main aim of providing administrative support to the NIS team.



Specific Job Responsibilities:


  • To manage the procurement process for bills of materials and ad-hoc purchases
  • Effectively coordinate requests from engineering/sales teams with suppliers
  • Source new suppliers and negotiate favourable terms
  • To build and maintain relationships with suppliers
  • Manage inventory and participate in stock-takes
  • To be able to resolve problems relating to sourcing parts, whilst taking innovative action and taking responsibility for order release decisions
  • Ensuring records are kept for all communication with customers, anticipating developments and identifying accounts that will require special attention.
  • Coordinate with and support customer service whilst managing service requests and service-related invoicing.
  • To be proactive in arranging product deliveries to customer
  • Support Proposals/ sales Engineering with up-to-date supplier pricing
  • Assist with any other relevant tasks as requested by Management



Qualifications & Experience:


  • GCSE Maths Grade 4 and above
  • GCSE English Grade 4 and above


  • Relevant experience in a purchasing role
  • General administration experience within a busy office environment
  • Competent Excel skills ideally including VLOOKUP and pivot tables


  • Excellent written and spoken English
