As a Hydraulic Systems Engineer, you will work alongside the Lead Hydraulics Engineer and be instrumental in the design, validation, and testing of hydraulic systems for a range of state-of-the-art projects aimed at decarbonizing the marine industry.


Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with a small, dynamic team of engineers to develop systems for commercial, leisure, and shipping sectors of the Marine Industry.
  • Design and specify hydraulic systems, including producing schematics, 3D modelling, and manufacturing drawings of manifolds and other components.
  • Produce documentation and calculations to support designs.
  • Model hydraulic systems with Simcenter AMEsim for validation.
  • Develop and test hydraulic systems.
  • Select and manage suppliers.
  • Provide commissioning and technical support for vessels.


Requirements:


  • Higher education within a Fluid Power, Mechanical, Electrical, Control Systems, or related field.
  • NFPC (or equivalent) Hydraulics Training (can be provided for a suitable candidate).
  • Strong understanding of Industrial and Mobile hydraulic systems and components.
  • Understanding of Mechanical systems.
  • Experience with CAD design, preferably Siemens NX.
  • Experience in creating hydraulic schematics.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work safely and effectively with hands-on tasks.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to cross-functional team members.
  • Willingness to travel.


Bonus Skills:


  • Experience with Simcenter AMEsim simulation software.
  • Knowledge of the marine industry, classification societies, and electrical systems or PLC systems.
  • EPlan ECAD experience.
