Senior Creative Operations Manager – Specialist in Free Standing Stores


Job Overview

As Senior Creative Operations Manager for Free Standing Stores you will responsible for all FSS projects, working across a number of brands who have these types of projects in their portfolio across the UK and Ireland


You will be an expert in free standing store project management and creative execution and be responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of entire projects from planning stage right through to completion ensuring that best in class processes and procedures are followed


Your primary goal will be to ensure the projects are delivered on time and within budget whilst ensuring all peripheral aspects around project delivery, such as resource, strategic planning and upholding brand guidelines are equally considered



Key responsibilities:

  • Collaboration with multiple stakeholders across the business including UK Brand teams, Global Brand teams, Commercial, Finance, Procurement, IT and directly with Store Teams
  • Collaboration with the FSS infrastructure teams including Retail Tech, Security, Real Estate, Facilities, Retail Ops and H&S ensuring that project information is communicated clearly and in a timely manner
  • Collaboration with Real Estate team to ensuring project timeline is inline with lease negotiations
  • Collaboration with planning consultants to ensure Planning Applications, Listed Building Applications and Building Warrants are submitted inline with the project timeline
  • Collaboration with Principle Designer to ensure CDM requirements are followed
  • Ensuring project briefs received from the UK Brand teams are detailed and clear to ensure the successful execution of projects
  • Creating project timelines with clear milestones that are communicated to project stakeholders
  • Creating project status reports that are shared in regular brand update meetings
  • Leading project status reviews with key stakeholders
  • Responsible for the Capital budgets on behalf of the brands ensuring that spend is achieved when planned and that projects are delivered in budget
  • Ensuring a Value Engineering mindset is adopted on all projects ensuring that cost savings and efficiencies are made without compromising on quality
  • Ensuring that the Project Management system is kept up to date with key project information
  • Ensuring strong supplier management and communication with shopfitters and VM suppliers
  • Seeking opportunities and enhancements to improve project schedule delivery timescale and processes, including post audit of prior projects to aid future installations



Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • 7+ years experience ideally in the Retail Industry
  • Experience managing Free Standing Store projects with experience on M&E installations
  • Strong cross-functional coordination skills
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and initiatives
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to understand and interpret financial information, understanding of broader business objectives
  • Confidence to be able to manage timelines with key Stakeholders
  • Experience managing vendor relationships
  • 360-creative PM skills
  • Production experience across Visual Merchandising and Store Design
  • Understanding of local statutory regulations with regards to planning applications, listed building consent, building regulations and CDM
  • Experience working with a leasing team and understanding of the leasing process
  • Knowledge of local retailer requirements
  • Office 365 - Excel and Word capabilities required
  • Global mindset and multicultural understanding
  • Experience managing multiple brands in fast-paced environment
  • Good level of technical construction knowledge and ability to interpret CAD files and communicate in the appropriate terminology
