ROLE PROFILE:

A key leadership role in LSEG's Network Products & Services (NPS) organisation which develops, delivers and supports the critical network infrastructure that underpins all our Business Services. Providing technical leadership and people management for the Solutions Design & Engineering (D&E) product aligned organisation within NPS.

The Director will lead network, automation and software engineers working with the Product Management and Architecture partners to build and deliver technical engineering roadmaps and solutions for the following network product areas:
  • LAN Connectivity including Datacentre Fabrics and Office Networks;
  • Global WAN & Edge Connectivity including Internet and Cloud;
  • Customer & Markets Connectivity including Low Latency & Multicast technologies;
  • Application Network Connectivity including Firewall, Load Balancer and DNS/ IPAM technologies;
  • Automation and Observability Frameworks including associated software engineering.
The D&E team follows Agile methodology for those product areas that have already moved to LSEG's software define network infrastructure. For other product areas, this role will drive a programme of transformation to move legacy infrastructures to Agile ways of working. This includes evolving automation and observability to drive operational efficiency and excellence for the organisation.

It is desirable that the candidate has significant previous network engineering experience in a large global corporate environment.

What you'll be doing
  • Defining technical roadmaps, policies, standards, engineering procedures and blueprints for relevant network products and environments;
  • Developing an automation and observability framework to support delivery of network products;
  • Providing technical delivery planning of large transformation projects and the engineering for such projects;
  • Ensuring life-cycle engineering to ensure that network environments remain up to date and supportable;
  • Working with internal and external teams and customers to run RFIs and RFPs for network equipment and solutions;
  • Leading a team of experienced engineers including and not limited to the approval of timesheets, training/development plans, objective setting, appraisals, mentoring and ensuring required training is completed;
  • Working with external vendors to understand their strategic direction and drive solutions that are fit for purpose for the network product and business requirements;
  • Engaging with senior business partners within LSEG to raise and maintain awareness of network solutions and understand the direction of the business;
  • Providing technical governance over network design and other technical teams where applicable;
  • Driving continuous improvement, always aspiring to deliver improvements in both technology and process, both inside and outside of the team.
What you'll bring
  • Senior People Leadership experience with a very good technical understanding of delivering global network services;
  • Significant experience in Network architecture, engineering and automation including all aspects networking (physical, virtual, cloud);
  • Previous background of working in a product and service based model with Agile and Site Reliability Engineering practices at the heart of delivery is desirable;
  • Experience of working with large technology programmes and acting as a sponsor for the technical aspects of delivery;
  • Experience working in large global financial, enterprise or service provider network environments;
  • Management and leadership in direct and matrix organisations;
  • Resource and budget planning and management;
  • Excellent senior relationship management and communications skills up to C-level;
  • Communication and teamwork on a technical and business level.
