Business Development Manager
Location: South West or Yorkshire area
Salary: £35k basic + £5k car allowance (OTE £70k-£80k, uncapable commission)
Role Overview:
As a Business Development Manage, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with key stakeholders, and driving revenue growth. You will work closely with the sales, marketing, and technical teams to develop and execute strategies that will position us as a preferred partner in the material technology sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business development within the holidays park sector, along with a passion for driving results in a fast-paced and innovative environment.
We are looking for a outcome driven BDM who matches our passion for working in the great outdoors, and with the environment at heart.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities by researching markets, industries, and potential clients in the material technology sector.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, including manufacturers, suppliers, and industry partners.
- Lead the sales process from prospecting to closing, including negotiation of contracts and agreements.
- Collaborate with the technical team to understand product capabilities and customer needs, ensuring tailored solutions that meet client specifications.
- Develop and execute business development strategies to drive growth in key markets and sectors.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity, providing insights to guide product development and strategic initiatives.
- Present Metpow’s solutions and value propositions at industry events, conferences, and client meetings.
- Work closely with internal teams (sales, marketing, product development) to align business development initiatives with company goals.
- Prepare regular sales forecasts and reports for senior management, highlighting key wins, challenges, and opportunities.
Key Competencies:
- Proven experience in business development or sales, preferably within the holiday park sector
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence key stakeholders and close deals.
- Ability to analyze market data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and results-oriented with a passion for identifying opportunities and achieving targets.
- Strong presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including technical, sales, and marketing teams.
- Travel flexibility to attend industry events, meet with clients, and represent Metpow at external functions.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
- Knowledge of advanced materials, metal powders, additive manufacturing, or similar industries is highly desirable.
- Experience with CRM systems and sales reporting tools as well as Hubspot, Slack and Google
