Would you like to work for a pioneering gene synthesis company, who are experiencing significant growth and success?
My client is an innovative gene synthesis company focused on designing and manufacturing application specific synthetic DNA products for use in cell and gene therapies and vaccines.
Due to their ongoing success, they are looking to expand their commercial team through bringing onboard an experienced business development director who will drive growth and expand the organisations client base within the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries.
The role would suit an experienced business development manager or director, with ample experience in contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO) environments, who is keen to identify new business opportunities and develop long-term symbiotic partnerships.
Key Responsibilities of the Business Development Director - Biotechnology:
- Identify and seek out opportunities for new business development to grow partnerships and revenue.
- Stay up to date with competitor activities and adjust business development strategies in response.
- Maintain relationships with potential clients, managing expectations and leading commercial negotiations.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of the products, industry and market trends.
- Prepare for and attend international conferences to support existing and develop new client connections.
To be considered for the Business Development Director - Biotechnology you will need the following skills and experience:
- Proven track record in high-level business development with extensive experience building and converting a pipeline of opportunities within the CDMO environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a personable nature to support relationship building and working with multidisciplinary teams.
- Prior experience of project management, able to set and manage project timelines and navigate potential risks involved.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Willingness to travel as needed to attend international industry event/conferences.
- Capability and commercial acumen to confidently lead presentations to senior team members and potential clients.
- An MSc/PhD in a relevant field such as Biology, Molecular Biology, Genomics/Genetics or equivalent, or equivalent work experience.
