What does a successful Global Operational Risk Officer do at Fiserv?


The Business Risk Officer role supports global line of business risk programs addressing complex problems and critical issues. Many manage staff within the functional unit or potentially across multiple geographic locations.


This position will be based in Basildon, UK and report into the VP of Credit Risk and Aggregator Oversight. The position can entail travel up to 10%, primarily within region but potentially to any site globally.


What you will do:


The Business Risk Officer serves as a member of the Enterprise Risk & Control (ERC) team and is primarily responsible for:


  • Identifying, measuring, managing and reporting risks associated to Financial/Default/Fraud Risk or Risk associated to the management of Third-Party Aggregator relationships
  • Supporting risk assessments and conducting independent testing/verification of associated controls
  • Monitoring of risks and related impacts including emerging risks, escalations and controls
  • Consultation with relevant business stakeholders to determine, quantify, and mitigate risks
  • Management of escalations and incidents that require second line oversight and support Root Cause Analysis and Post-Incident Reviews
  • Ongoing measurement and assessment of KRIs, KPIs and other metrics to determine performance in alignment with internal and external requirements and risk appetite
  • Recommendations for enhancements to mitigate risk and maintain tolerance to risk appetite Governance of risks associated to area supported by Business Risk Officer


What you will need to have:


  • Previous risk or industry experience (internal audit, internal controls, risk management, compliance management, regulatory agency, law firm, accounting, technology, or operations)
  • Proven track record of complex problem solving and decision-making ability.
  • Effective leader and adaptable team player. Organised, influential, strong client service attitude


What would be great to have:


  • Financial services experience, including working in highly regulated global environments
  • General understanding of global laws, regulations and standards governing technology and financial services industries
  • Understanding of financial and business processes, being able to link business process risk to appropriate and practical controls
