As we expand our presence in the European market, we are establishing a new office in London and are looking for a skilled Business Development Manager (BDM) to join our growing team. This role is critical to building our sales capabilities in the EU market and offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment.


The Role


As the Business Development Manager, you will be at the forefront of our expansion into the European market. You will work closely with our Senior Manager leading the UK office and collaborate with key stakeholders from our Marketing and Sales teams based in Sydney. You will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and establishing our brand presence across the EU region.


This position requires a highly motivated individual with a proven track record of operating autonomously, a strategic mindset, and the ability to build and nurture key client relationships. Key Responsibilities


  • Market Expansion: Lead efforts to identify and target new business opportunities in the EU market, focusing on building a strong client base and driving revenue growth.
  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including potential clients, partners, and industry influencers.
  • Sales Strategy: Collaborate with the Sydney-based Marketing and Sales teams to refine and execute the sales strategies for the EU market, ensuring alignment with global objectives.
  • Partnering with Professional Services: Collaborate closely with the Senior Manager to ensure seamless handover and alignment of customer projects, working together to nurture customer relationships and support long-term satisfaction and growth.
  • Autonomous Operation: Operate independently with a high degree of self-leadership, managing your own pipeline and sales activities while reporting progress to the CEO and senior management.
  • Client Management: Oversee the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to closing deals, ensuring a high level of client satisfaction and long-term business partnerships.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments, using this knowledge to inform and adapt sales strategies.
  • Language Skills: Utilise proficiency in a second language (Spanish, French, or German) to enhance client interactions and expand our reach in multilingual markets.


Objectives of this Role


  • Establish Jomablue’s presence in the EU market, achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Build a robust pipeline of qualified leads and convert them into long-term customers.
  • Develop tailored sales approaches to meet the unique needs of diverse EU markets.
  • Collaborate effectively with the global team to align sales efforts with company goals.


Skills and Experience


  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in business development, preferably in event technology or event management-related field.
  • Autonomous Work Style: Ability to work independently, self-motivate, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present and influence at all levels.
  • Marketing or Events Background: Leverage existing professional networks to drive sales pipeline and build industry partnerships within the event marketing space.
  • CRM Proficiency: Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM software to manage sales activities and track performance.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in a second language (Spanish, French, or German) is highly desirable.
