The Role: Business Development Manager


We are seeking a dynamic and driven Business Development Manager (BDM) who is knowledgeable and passionate about audio-visual technology and production. This pivotal role requires someone with a strong understanding of our core sectors, including pharmaceutical, healthcare, and event/meeting agencies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving business growth and developing long-term client relationships and partnerships.

Ideal Candidate


To be successful in this role, you will currently be working as a Business Development Manager within the audio-visual production or related industry. You will have a keen interest in technology and innovation and possess the ability to juggle multiple projects while maintaining a client-focused approach. You should have an entrepreneurial mindset, love small business, and be willing to get stuck in. With success, we plan on building a team around you, focusing on your progression into a sales and marketing leadership role.


Key Responsibilities


  • Client Acquisition and Retention: Identify and secure new business opportunities within our target sectors. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
  • Securing Repeat and New Business: Develop strategies to secure repeat business from existing clients while also targeting and winning new business.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand our market presence.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify industry trends, potential clients, and competitive landscapes.
  • Proposal Development: Create compelling proposals and presentations to secure new business and grow existing accounts.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with our production and technical teams to ensure client needs are met and projects are successfully delivered.
  • Networking: Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to increase brand awareness and generate leads.


Must-Have Skills and Experience


  • 5+ years of experience in business development, preferably in the audio-visual production or related industry.
  • Proven track record of hunting and winning new business, hitting sales targets and driving growth.
  • Excellent communication and savvy negotiation skills to build strong client relationships.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Client-focused mindset with a proactive approach to finding solutions.


Desirable Skills


  • Experience in our core sectors: pharmaceutical, healthcare, and event/meeting agencies.
  • Experience working in the US market and understanding of its business dynamics.
  • Understanding of audio-visual production processes and technical knowledge.
  • Passion for technology and innovation in the AV sector.
  • Network of industry contacts within the AV and production space.
  • Project management experience with a focus on delivering exceptional client experiences.
