We are an AI healthcare company dedicated to revolutionizing early interception and treatment of lung disease, starting with the deadliest: lung cancer. We support clinicians in making life-saving treatment decisions on behalf of their patients. To do this, we have developed the world’s first and only FDA-cleared product for AI-powered diagnostic support for lung cancer, and we are working to expand our platform to drive optimal decisions across the patient journey.


About the role

You will drive the future of Optellum’s pioneering platform, the first and only FDA cleared solution for AI-powered lung cancer diagnosis, to ensure it is used to enable optimal care for every patient in every clinic.

You will help drive the product vision, as well as own the high-level roadmap and positioning, working with Chief Business Officer & Founder. You will also lead the launch of products, development of collateral, and delivery of training. You will work closely with teams across the company, as well as with external stakeholders, including reference sites, customers, Key Opinion Leader (KOL) advisors, and industry partners.


1. Help drive the diagnostics platform vision and lead product roadmap definition

  • Identify and prioritize unmet needs and market opportunities in early lung cancer diagnosis
  • Champion the product vision, ensuring it aligns with customer needs and company goals
  • Define and prioritize product concepts, workflows, and high-level user requirements
  • Develop and maintain the product roadmap, detailing key milestones and deliverables
  • Select and coordinate work with light-house clinical reference sites and KOLs
  • Guide market testing or piloting of prioritized concepts, then help scale them if successful


2. Define the diagnostics product positioning & branding

  • Develop positioning strategies to capture existing demand and create growth opportunities
  • Own the Unique Selling Proposition (USP) Store
  • Identify and prioritize gaps in clinical and customer return-on-investment (ROI) evidence
  • Analyse and monitor the competitive landscape
  • Ensure consistent adoption of positioning and branding in the commercial teams


3. Plan new diagnostics product launches & collateral definition

  • Plan and coordinate new product launches, including definition of new collateral
  • Drive sales partner and clinical product training
  • Support sales team and external sales partners in key early customer deals
  • Specify the objectives, and help draft the content of white papers and other publications
  • Support Technical Product Owner in prioritizing feature backlog, release planning and maintenance


4. Support creation and expansion the Optellum precision care platform

  • Support Head of Therapy Solutions in integrating therapy guidance modules
  • Analyze & prioritize expansion into other disease states based on unmet needs & market opportunity
  • Support integrations of existing and new third-party hardware and software products into the Optellum precision care platform


About you

We are looking for an entrepreneurial innovator with a passion for healthcare, complemented by strong communication and technical skills, strategic mindset and a drive to deliver pioneering clinical products.


Required

  • Early-stage startup or fast-growing SME experience, ideally in innovative medtech companies, experience with innovative clinical devices with software component is a strong plus
  • 3-5-year product-related experience, preferably in a Product Management role for novel products with a strong digital component within the life-sciences or enterprise software industries
  • Healthcare experience: several years of experience working in healthcare domains, with proven ability to understand and impact complex drivers of adoption of novel clinical products
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills: you are effective in tailoring a message to the appropriate audience with an ability to craft clear, compelling presentations and written material
  • Adaptability & strategic mindset: you are a quick learner, feel comfortable navigating uncharted and ambiguous landscapes, break complex problems down into simple ways, and prioritize solutions
  • Team player: you have demonstrated excellence in working collaboratively and effectively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, in clinical, technical and commercial roles
  • Strong technical background: Bachelor’s degree in a technical/scientific discipline, e.g. Computer Science, Physics, Engineering (advanced degree such as a MSc or a PhD a strong plus)
  • Location and travel: willingness and ability to travel globally to tradeshows and customer meetings (25% on average, with more frequent travel in certain periods). Optellum supports remote work. Your location should allow presence in Oxford, UK 1-2 days per week when needed


Desirable

One or more of these would be advantageous:

  • Strong ability to build relations and communicate with clinical KOL experts
  • Understanding of clinical workflows (pulmonology / respiratory, surgery and radiology), and demonstrated passion for creating a great clinical user experience (UX/UI)
  • Strong familiarity with medical imaging and/or healthcare IT domains (EMR, PACS)
  • Understanding of lung cancer (other lung diseases and other cancers a plus)
  • Familiarity with AI/Machine Learning and computer vision concepts, such as neural networks
  • International experience (work or study abroad) esp in North America, Europe and APAC
  • Experience working within regulated environments (e.g. ISO 13485)
