Babbasa is a Bristol-based social enterprise dedicated to supporting young people from disadvantaged communities to pursue their professional ambitions. The organisation provides skills training programs, mentorship opportunities, work experience, and enterprise resources to less advantaged young individuals aged 16-25. Babbasa also offers tailored packages to educational institutions, corporate organisations, and youth service providers to support their beneficiaries in professional development and diversity initiatives.
Role Description
Reporting directly to the CEO this is a pivotal senior role which is responsible for developing, maintaining, expanding and strengthening Babbasa’s commercial revenue. Leading a small focused team, your task will be to directly provide a business development and account management approach for corporate partners - leading on negotiations for OurCity2030 pathway cluster, corporate partnerships, pro bono offers, social responsibility arrangements and individual commercial services. Through creative sales, teamwork, stewarding and exemplary customer service, you will provide value for engaged corporate partners and generate revenue for the continued success and long term goals of Babbasa.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to work by own initiative.
- Strong interpersonal skills and people-oriented approach to stakeholder management
- Proven ability to explore client needs, negotiate and deliver to quality requirement
- Proven ability to produce client satisfaction with a track record of acquiring repeat business
- Excellent presentation and organisational skills
- Strong IT skills and software use related to role
- Ability to spot commercial opportunities and demonstrate the value proposition of BRIS
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise workloads and deadlines
- Strong problem-solving skills with a solid understanding of financial and commercial principle
- Able to produce concise and effective strategies and initiatives that have had a demonstrable impact on an organisation’s revenue generation
Knowledge and Experience
- Experience in two or more of the following: corporate partnerships, strategic communications, account management, multi-stakeholder management, public sector, procurement bids/commissions, social value, sponsorship negotiations
- Experience of writing proposals, together with broader budget and financial management capability
- Leadership record of building, managing and motivating a team to achieve set targets and goals
- Knowledge of and interest in Equity and Inclusion, employment law and experience of its application within the business environment.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the local business community in the Southwest (UK)
- Demonstrable commitment to Babbasa’s values and professional development
Desirable
- Experience in public sector
- L3 and above business and marketing principle qualifications
Salary: £35-£40k
Start date: Immediate
Interview dates: Interviewing on a rolling basis
Interview process: Screening call with the current Head of Business Engagement, face-to-face interview including presenting a pre-set task, live task and 8-10 interview questions asked by a panel of 2-3 members of the Babbasa team
