Reed Accountancy are seeking an experienced Payroll Controller to join our well recognised client in the Crawley area. Reporting to the Payroll Manager as Payroll Controller you will supervise and support the payroll administrators and be responsible for assisting with the processing of payroll for over 4000 staff.

Key duties will include:

  • Support the Payroll Manager in the delivery of accurate payroll, reporting and payment of taxes each month
  • Overseeing Payroll Administrators and identify any training requirements
  • Liaising with Pensions team
  • Creating and sending BACS files and various reconciliations
  • Maintaining and updating staff data including starters and leaver
  • Assisting in the running of monthly payrolls and calculating adjustments and pro rata calculations
  • Liaising with people team, staff and local offices and dealing with queries

Key Skills

  • Previous experience supervising a payroll team
  • In-house payroll experience including manual calculations
  • Methodical, organised, and accurate
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office software
  • Good communication skills, both verbal & written
  • Excellent team player
