About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Infrastructure Technical Manager to join a leading financial institution. This role requires a dynamic individual with a balanced mix of technical expertise in Linux-based environments and strong management capabilities. You will be leading a team responsible for the successful delivery of complex infrastructure projects and ensuring seamless IT service delivery across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Distributed Compute team, overseeing all IT infrastructure operations within the service line.
- Act as the Technical SME for Linux Systems, ensuring optimal configuration, maintenance, and support of infrastructure components.
- Drive and influence engineering and infrastructure work across various teams, ensuring alignment with business needs.
- Manage and deliver complex infrastructure projects, from planning to execution, within set timelines.
- Collaborate with IT service owners, infrastructure process owners, and various service delivery groups to develop and implement technical solutions.
- Oversee change management initiatives, ensuring system availability, performance, and reliability.
- Build and manage a high-performing team, providing leadership and guidance to ensure ongoing operational excellence.
Key Requirements:
- 15+ years of experience in team management and Linux system administration within large-scale infrastructure environments.
- Proven track record of delivering complex infrastructure deployment projects.
- Expertise in Red Hat Linux (RHEL 6/7/8) and VMware virtualization products.
- Strong knowledge of SAN/NAS storage solutions, backup solutions like NetBackup, and automation tools such as Ansible, Git, and Jenkins.
- Experience with IT infrastructure architecture, capacity planning, and cloud services.
- Solid understanding of business continuity, disaster recovery, and the relationship between application design, data, and infrastructure.
- Familiarity with DevOps and Agile project execution methodologies.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
