We have an exciting new opportunity for a Compliance Officer to join a dynamic Legal Consultancy Company. This role is based in Loughborough and boasts hybrid flexibility for someone who can hit the ground running.


The ideal candidate is someone with strong written and communication skills and a good knowledge of CQS, Lexcel and SRA Regulations. Proven experience in compliance in the legal sector is desirable for this position.


Some key responsibilities:

  • Offering guidance to clients on acquiring and maintaining Legal Aid Contracts, compliance with quality standards (SQM/Lexcel/CQS/WIQS), audit preparations and post-audit checks.
  • Assessing audit reports and identifying areas for improvement
  • Reviewing Client Care Letters and Terms & Conditions for compliance with the SRA, SQM/Lexcel/CQS, Legal Aid Agency, and against other legislation such as the UK GDPR
  • Identifying and implementing firm and compliance-based updates required
  • Reviewing websites of SRA-regulated law firms to ensure compliance with the SRA Transparency Rules and other regulations, including Companies House requirements and UK GDPR
  • Preparing and submitting SRA applications
  • Liaising with the SRA in advance of and following the submission of applications to ensure timely progression of matters
  • Supporting the team in developing Junior Compliance Officers
