About the role

This role will sit within our LMP Education Sales function and the successful candidate will be required to lead on Apprenticeship sales strategy across business development and account management to ensure that we are meeting start targets within the Education, Early Years and Business sectors.

The Head of Partnerships will need to devise and implement a forward-thinking sales strategy to promote, engage, create, and fill Apprenticeship start targets across England. The Head of Partnerships will be responsible for ensuring that each salesperson within the Business Development Team and the Account Management Team is meeting their targets consistently by controlling the sales and by creating strategic partnerships (internally and externally) to enhance LMPs offering, leverage key stakeholders to drive more clients into the teams and to ensure LMP have a presence at industry leading events.


Develop Sales Strategy: Work with the strategy team to create and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue targets and facilitate growth.

  1. To develop and implement a sales strategy over the next 24 months for schools, Early Year settings and Business's.
  2. To develop and implement an account management strategy over the next 24 months to grow LMPs current client base.
  3. To develop a bank of key internal and external partnerships which will drive starts and enhance the LMP offer.
  4. To ensure sales, and account management, consistently meet their targets and KPIs.
  5. To ensure that the apprenticeship starts targets are met consistently.


Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate your direct reports- The sales management team and provide ongoing training and development to enhance their teams performance and drive results.

Sales Forecasting and Planning: Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive activities to develop sales forecasts and marketing plans. Monitor sales metrics and performance indicators to track progress and identify areas for improvement.

Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and partners. Understand their needs and preferences to deliver tailored solutions and exceed expectations. Ensure data is recorded effectively and efficiently.

Product Knowledge and Promotion: Stay updated on product features, benefits, and competitive advantage and ensure your team can convey these effectively and through the creation of partnerships look at ways our products can stand out in the sectors we work in.

Sales Process Optimisation: Continuously evaluate and improve sales processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Support with the introduction and development of our CRM system to ensure we have the data we need.
To promote and implement an effective "LMP Way" of selling through the introduction of a sales handbook/playbook which will create consistency across the team with a goal of increasing the success of external meetings.

Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, finance, and marketing, to align sales efforts with overall business objectives. Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on sales performance, initiatives, and challenges.

Market Research and Analysis: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for growth and differentiation. To inform strategic decision-making, stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and customer preferences.

Commission reports: Work with the finance and operations teams to produce, monitor and approve monthly commission reports across the sales department and uphold 100% accuracy and punctuality.

To develop future managers and leaders: To grow the current team structure to include Sales Managers and senior salespeople.

ROI: To measure and analyze ROI on all marketing & partnerships activity to produce reports and support data-driven decisions.

Culture: Further develop and maintain the company culture and values of LMP Education.

Additional Responsibilities
You will be managing the Apprenticeship Sales Team to ensure that there is a steady flow of apprenticeship enrolments and candidates available to fulfil our targeted starts in an accurate and timely manner. You will also maintain the highest quality communications and delivering an excellent customer service.

As a senior manager you will work collaboratively with other LMP teams including but not limited to Inspire ATA, LMP Education and Operations teams, ensuring the efficient delivery of integrated administrative tasks. As the Head of Apprenticeship Sales, you must act as an internal advisor in furthering the business objectives by keeping us up to date and current with key sector updates. You will also represent the Apprenticeship sales function within the Strategic Management Team at LMP Group.

The ideal candidate must have the following:

  • An understanding of the FE and training sector, and in particular the apprenticeship model.
  • An understanding of employability and skills funding provision.
  • Sales team management experience within the apprenticeship sector.
  • A proven track record of individual high performance within a sales function, and in the management of a high-performing team.
  • Knowledge of organisational effectiveness and operations management.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate a good understanding of basic HR policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Excellent IT Skills (MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organised.
  • Experience of working within the apprenticeship training sector with the ability to overcome problems with fast and effective solutions.
  • Having an analytical mindset, with the ability to analyse and identify patterns in information, trends, and emerging issues.
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and the ability to investigate and evaluate information and reach good conclusions.
