Matt and Tyler have drawn on their years of experience building multi-million pound global DTC brands with a focus on eCommerce. They have ambitious objectives to delight millions of plus size men in the UK and internationally over the next decade with exceptional product quality and an extended range.


BUILT DIFFERENT’s objective is to grow to over £30M profitably while retaining its market-beating client satisfaction by the end of 2025. We believe this is possible by building a solid foundation for growth in our Product, eCommerce Trading, and Operations & Supply Chain. Additionally creating greater demand from significant investment in product and brand innovation, performance marketing, and most importantly, incredible people. This is where you come in


PURPOSE OF ROLE

This role is career-defining; allowing the right candidate to make their mark, learn while doing and work to propel BUILT DIFFERENT into a trail-blazing, aspirational global fashion brand.

Reporting to Co-Founders, as Head of Product, you’ll use your Product and Design superpowers to turbo charge our design output, resulting in a much quicker concept to shelf production cycle, along with greater capacity for a larger range and all with lower costs and higher quality.

You will ensure that Product innovation, Design and continuous improvement are maximised. Leading our overall product budgets and forecasts, you will work closely alongside our Co-founders and play a key role in the growth of the brand to +£30M inside the next 18 months


MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provide expertise on product design best practices.
  • Ensure on-time range launches & monitoring the CP dates.
  • Oversee and deliver on all Tech-Packs. Streamline this process to maximise cost and time efficiencies.
  • Drive product innovation and continuous improvement with our suppliers to support our designs.
  • Anticipating the needs of the plus size menwear customer, using sales data, customer profile analytics and trend information to deliver commercial product ranges and shape the future of the Product division
  • Overseeing range development, ensuring that the product reflects the Brand strategy, the range is without gaps or duplication, and that the season is logically and commercially thought through.
  • Manage size ratios and returns rate analysis.
  • Work closely with your colleagues in the Operations & Supply Chain providing support with inbound stock, goods in, stock movement, quality control, and launches
  • Supporting suppliers through management of the critical path to ensure on-time deliveries and the production of quality garments
  • Collate all data on stock, sales, returns, cash flow, balance sheet from a product design, development, sourcing, buying, merch & category management point of view and analyse to find the insight to make the right decisions for the business
  • Effectively manage all production risks, being proactive in mitigating these
  • Work with Directors on setting the near, medium, and long-term strategic vision of the business and setting short, medium and long term goals for scalable growth to increase revenues and profits
  • Be prepared for international travel, when required


ABOUT YOU

You will have a deep experience in Product Design, launching new products and extending existing menswear range. You will also have experience across: merch, sourcing and production with exceptional financial skills, an entrepreneurial spirit, quality product sensibility and excellent analytical skills. Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated, passionate, performance-driven individual with a strategic mindset.


EXPERIENCE

  • 10+ years working within the fashion industry preferably menswear.
  • 5+ years experience specifically in Product and Design
  • A collaborative non-political approach
  • Strong understanding of garment manufacturing.
  • Demonstrable experience in building sustainability policies within brands.
  • Have an existing established supplier network on a global scale
  • Strong commercial awareness with an ability to identify risk and confidently provide solutions
