1. Purpose


The primary purpose of the role is to work with the Exposure Management team to monitor, manage and assess exposures to Non Natural Catastrophe events. This role would utilise the current in-house tools but would also require the successful candidate to be able to improve and enhance the use of these tools. Main tasks include reporting on the Energy, Marine, Liability and Cyber lines of business.


2. Specific Responsibilities


  • To produce the monitoring metrics, including RDS exposures for the Energy, Marine, Liability and Cyber lines of business for internal and regulatory purposes.
  • To be the expert technical lead for Sequel Impact in the business, together with expanding and reviewing the data within Sequel Impact
  • To surface the data from Sequel Impact into a robust reporting suite for senior stakeholders to assess exposures on a regular basis
  • To shape the analytical capabilities for the Non Nat Cat lines of business (hardware and software, using in-house software and model development)
  • To be the technical lead for Geo Spatial visualisation across the business
  • Demonstrate knowledge on multiple Non Nat Cat software packages (for example, Sequel Impact, Allpins, Arium, AdvantageGo, ExposureHub), both in terms of software usage and database administration.
  • To review and assess more progressive or more effective ways of reporting for Energy, Marine, Liability and Cyber
  • To enhance underwriting data with firmographic information to increase the ability to produce more accurate exposure data
  • To work closely with the UW’s to ensure that all exposures are monitored effectively
  • To have the ability to use SQL queries to retrieve and update modelling information as required.



3. Essential Skills & Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Engineering, Software, Mathematics, Science, Economics or related discipline
  • Sound experience in the Exposure Management industry.
  • Familiar with database administration with various versions of SQL Server, including conversion of databases across different versions.
  • Expert knowledge in Sequel Impact is essential and should be knowledgeable in exposure and results database schema.
  • Programming skills: SQL scripting and querying, Arc GIS, Geo Spatial software etc
  • Expertise in the work with extended databases.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite with strong skills in Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently in a team-orientated environment.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work flexibly to meet business needs including working extended hours and weekends where required to meet business objectives.
