Purpose of the Role


We are looking for an energised People Manager to work within the People Team at Signature Group.


The primary purpose of this newly created role will be to maximise capability, competence and effectiveness of the Signature Group’s most important resource – our people.


We are a hospitality business with 21 units across Scotland. Without fun, engaging, talented people, we will fail in our mission to ‘serve happiness’


In this role you will work closely with the Head of People to provide support to all venues to help them to manage performance and provide comprehensive employee relations advice. The overall goal is to ensure the Group delivers on its mission.


Job Responsibilities


  • Provide people advice to Venues and the Operations team with complex cases, such as disciplinary, grievances and appeals.
  • Review HR policies and procedures to ensure they support current employment legislation.
  • Standardise documentation and processes to provide a streamlined people support for Venues and the Operations team.
  • Support Venues and the Operations team with encouraging high performance aligned to company values.
  • Promote employee well being to support company values.
  • Support HR compliance and administration while staying on top of employment legislation changes.
  • Support the People Strategy and projects as directed by the Head of People.
  • Promoting the Signature Values throughout the People Agenda.
  • As you’ll be supporting our hospitality venues in people matters, there will be an expectation of regular visits to these venues.
  • To bring an innovative and enthusiastic mindset, daily


The Individual

  • Demonstrable experience of supporting managers in complex cases such as disciplinary, grievances and appeals.
  • Knowledge of UK employment legislation and practices.
  • Degree level education or equivalent through relevant training/experience.
  • CIPD qualified, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent team working and communication skills.


The Location and Ways of Working


The role is based on Edinburgh but will include regular travel to venues across Edinburgh, Glasgow, St Andrews, Aberdeen and Stirling.


We work flexibly but as a People business we like to get out and about and meet our people in person.
