EDT Social Worker

You possess a Degree in Social Work or an equivalent qualification, with additional certifications such as A.M.H.P or P.Q. Certificate in Child Care being desirable. You have considerable experience working with both children and adults, particularly in crisis situations, and demonstrate adeptness in a multi-disciplinary setting. Your knowledge covers legislation related to children, families, and adults, such as the Children Act 1989 and the Mental Health Act 1983. You have strong oral and written communication skills, the ability to work independently, negotiate effectively with diverse agencies, and excel in assessment and crisis intervention. Your personal attributes include flexibility, teamwork, a non-judgemental and caring attitude, and a commitment to equal opportunities and innovative working methods.
What the Job InvolvesAs an EDT Social Worker, you will provide a high-quality emergency social work service outside normal working hours for vulnerable individuals. Your responsibilities include immediate crisis management, legal interventions if required, and liaising with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the well-being of clients. You are expected to conduct assessments, offer advice, and collaborate with both statutory and voluntary professionals. Administrative tasks such as case recordings and report preparation are crucial, as are attending meetings and court hearings. This role also involves day-time participation, contributing to team development, and addressing health and safety requirements. You will offer support to children and vulnerable adults, assist in emergency needs assessment, and provide immediate resolutions in alliance with Approved Mental Health Professionals and other emergency services.
