You'll be based in the East Coast of Scotland as we'd love your presence regularly in the Dundee office for some great engagement with the CEO and other colleagues in person.


What's the role?


As Business Manager to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Insights, you'll be a trusted advisor and partner in driving organisational success.


Working closely with the Strategy and Change team and the CEO’s Executive Assistant to provide a critical link with the CEO’s day-to-day, regular and project related activities. You'll ensure the CEO is appropriately prepared to optimise their time delivering day-to-day activities efficiently and effectively. This will include preparation for and coordination of meetings with key stakeholders, internal and external communications, and engagement with strategic level initiatives.


Through proactive planning, creativity, meticulous attention to detail, and exceptional organisational skills, you will enable the CEO to focus on leadership and delivery, while ensuring that all operational preparation is completed with precision and professionalism.

  • Forward Planning and Agenda Management: · Manage the agendas for Board and Executive meetings, soliciting input from stakeholders, obtaining approvals, and publishing finalised agendas in a timely manner.
  • CEO Preparation and Readiness: Prepare materials for the CEO, staying “one week ahead” to enable them to add value and flourish.
  • Strategic Diary Management (supported by the CEO’s Executive Assistant):· Oversee the planning of the CEO's forward diary, proactively scheduling meetings, briefings, and presentations to align with strategic priorities and objectives.
  • Meeting Management:·Maintain Executive Actions and Decision Logs in an audit-worthy state, tracking action items, follow-ups, and outcomes to ensure accountability and transparency
  • Executive Team Performance Support: Support the CEO in delivery of executive team performance, communication, and engagement, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Leadership: Lead and develop the CEO Executive Assistant to ensure effective management of the CEO office and contribute to a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across the Business support team, driving consistency and alignment.


What you'll bring


  • Significant experience in roles involving executive support, business management and strategic planning, preferably in a leadership capacity.
  • Gathering and synthesising information from multiple sources to produce high-quality reports, presentations, and communication materials for executive consumption.
  • Team leadership and management, including recruiting, training, and developing support staff to ensure alignment, engagement, and effectiveness.
  • Familiarity with corporate governance practices, board reporting requirements, and regulatory compliance standards relevant to the industry sector.
  • Strategic thinker with problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to anticipate executive needs, identify opportunities for process improvement, and propose innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Strong influencing skills, able to engage and collaborate with Executive leaders to achieve deliverables and milestones.
  • Professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality in all interactions and communications.
  • Adaptability and resilience, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, manage ambiguity, and navigate complex situations with confidence and composure.
