At Quilter we never stand still. Our foundations are rooted in our extraordinary expertise, which is trusted by hundreds of thousands of customers, but we have great ambitions to stay one step ahead and make an even greater difference to the people and communities we serve.
Our business is transforming, continually modernising and becoming even more customer centric. So if you want to be bold in the pursuit of your ambitions, bring new ideas, and challenge and evolve what we do, it's the perfect time to join us

With exciting opportunities to grow our learning systems, processes and content, the Learning and Development Consultant is a key enabler to achieving this.
The working world has become highly skills focused in recent years and for businesses to achieve their strategic objectives, it's important to understand the skills the workforce contains so strengths cab be maximised and development areas grown. The Learning and Development Consultant will underpin this bigger picture, ensuring Quilter remains compliant with the mandated training requirements as well as supporting the development of our people to ensure they continue to set us apart from our competition.
Whilst this is a fixed term offering, there are many key projects to deliver in this time - not only will you be supporting the development of our people, you'll have the opportunity to grow and develop your own skills and knowledge too.
About the Role
Level: Level 4
Department: Human Resources
Location: Southampton | London
Contract type: Fixed Term Contract | Secondment
Contract Duration: c.12 months
Many roles will often say that no two days are the same, but this is definitely the case with the L&D Consultant role. One day you'll be working with an individual employee to ensure their development requirements are realised and the next you'll be working on a piece of mandatory learning that every employee across Quilter will undertake.
From the very start of your time in this role, you'll get to know our mandatory learning subject matter experts and you'll take their knowledge and use it to craft the mandatory learning modules to ensure our employees remain compliant with the regulations and legislations that govern our work, these will then be uploaded into our corporate systems and deployed to the business to complete. You'll get to know our newest starters by facilitating Quilter's Induction sessions, welcoming them to the business and ensuring they possess the knowledge they need to commence their new roles effectively.
You'll help administer the regular performance management cycle, and help meet the learning needs of employees by curating content to help bridge the skills gaps identified or help source specific development opportunities where this content doesn't already exist.
Above all, your key aim will be to help our employees achieve their potential, listening to what their needs are and working with them, and other stakeholders within our business, to identify the best way to achieve this.
Consumer Duty
Whilst this isn't a directly customer facing role, the duties you will perform will contribute to the overall positive outcomes for our customers by ensuring that Quilter's employees possess the skills, knowledge and behaviours they require to be successful in their own roles, which in turn will help deliver the best outcomes to all of our customers.
About You
Applications from people with diverse backgrounds enables our inclusive organisation to thrive. If you feel you don't match our job description exactly, why not take a chance on yourself and apply? You could be exactly what this role needs.
Communication is key within this role. You will be confident to ask challenging questions to determine underlying causes and needs, but more importantly, you will listen to what is really being said and translate this into a tangible solution.
Experience working within a learning environment is advantageous but should not be considered as a blocker, your own willingness and desire to learn will be key and you will be supported with expertise from your wider team. Much of this role will working with existing processes or design new ones so experience working in this way will be advantageous. System usage will feature highly within this role, so experience of learning, talent or HR systems is helpful, however with a good confidence in using core office software, the specifics of our systems will be learned quickly.
We are a learning team and we hold that close in all we do. A curious mindset, underpinned by a collaborative, proactive, adaptable and business-focused approach will soon bridge any possible skills and knowledge gaps.
Do the right thing: We act with integrity and are proudly committed to going above and beyond in service of our clients and the support we provide our communities.
Always curious: We continuously seek new ideas and knowledge so we're one step ahead of our clients' needs. We look for inspiration everywhere and encourage experimentation, recognising that this is how we create brilliant solutions for brighter futures .
