Dalkia UK have a great opportunity for a Catering Manager to join our school team based in Walkden, Manchester.
This is a dual role combining 'hands on' duties e.g. food preparation, food service and cleaning as well as managerial duties.
Hours of work
- 7 Hours per day, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
'Hands on' Responsibilities
- Setting up and packing away the dining and service areas - including setting up / packing away dining furniture
- Preparing food and beverages
- Serving food and beverages
- Carrying out cashier duties during service
- Cleaning the kitchen and dining room and associated furniture/equipment pre/post/during service
Managerial Responsibilities
- Leading, developing, coaching, training, and motivating the team
- Being the first point of contact for the school for catering services
- Supporting control of the catering operation including stock, food, and labour costs
- Ensuring consistency of food and service standards delivered to the students and staff
- Managing and improving all controllable costs
- Maintaining company systems, procedures, and legislation
- Carrying out regular audits to ensure standards are being met where required
- Attending monthly meetings with the school, Local Authority and Dalkia teams
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience of working in a commercial catering environment
- Previous experience of supervising / leading a team
- The role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check
- COSHH Training
- Understand safe working practices and health and safety legislation
- Knowledge of food safety regulations/HACCP
- Basic IT competence - including the use of Excel, Outlook
