Position Statement:

As a Senior Content Designer at Hilton, you'll be an experienced content practitioner, responsible for defining content solutions that meets the needs of our guests at every part of the customer journey. Working closely with the Marketing, Customer and Technology teams, you'll work on creating, optimising and delivering evidence-based, readable and measurable content across our digital and offline channels. This can involve working on a single piece of content or on the end-to-end journey.

You will have responsibility for the consistency and quality of content through mentoring other content designers, leading content crits and reviewing the work of others. As part of our Digital Experience team, you'll also contribute to our wider content capabilities at Hilton, support other team members and help enhance our collective ways of working.

Position Summary:

In this role, you will:
• Serve as the subject matter expert for digital content creation and design capabilities
• Take ownership of content quality through reviewing output of other content designers and holding content crits and pair writing sessions
• Engage with and contribute to the cross-disciplinary content community at Hilton
• Contribute to the training and onboarding of new content designers
• Lead small, project-focused teams
• Understand agile methodology and can apply an agile mindset to your work, using an iterative and flexible approach to enable rapid delivery
• Craft content that reflects Hilton, our 22 world-class brands and over 7,000 properties using styles guides and standards
• Understand Hilton's guests and can identify who they are and what their needs are based on evidence and data
• Gain insights from qualitative and quantitative data and user research and use those insights to make informed content decisions
• Influence the product development cycle by acting as an advocate for Hilton's guests when making content decisions
• Create content concepts and prototypes to visualize your work in context to show stakeholders proposed content
• Work closely and communicate clearly with Marketing, Customer and Technology stakeholders to build experiences that inspire our guests to dream, shop and stay with Hilton
• Use content management systems to publish content, understanding the importance of content lifecycle management and applying a continuous improvement mindset to your work
• Document content standards and best practices that empower on-property team members to maintain and update content under a self-service model

What are we looking for?

The success in this role will demonstrate itself through the following attributes and skills:
• Proven experience in a similar Content Design/User Experience role
• Ability to mentor and coach others
• Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
• Writing and mapping user stories
• Excellent writing and content strategy skills covering both long-form and short-form content
• Detail orientated, with a keen eye for consistency and quality
• Experience of researching, designing and testing content experiences as part of multi-disciplinary teams in an Agile environment
• Ability to work with analytics and content metrics such as readability, qualitative research, digital analytics to help solve problems pragmatically
• Proficiency with content management systems
• The ability to advocate for content design and help others understand its value. Cold facts aren't always enough. At times, you'll need to bring the warmth of a proficient storyteller to get everyone on the same page
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills and an ability to influence senior stakeholders across multiple disciplines

• BA/BS Bachelor's Degree in related field or experience in lieu of
• Significant experience in a related content position
• Previous experience in a specialized content design position
