The Role
A HR Generalist role has opened up in the UK office in Leeds. This role will require a high level of self-motivation to take ownership and responsibility for own workload. Working alongside Senior Management, the wider global HR function and key business partners the role will be highly visible and require a confident communicator & influencer at all levels.
The position is a function for the business and will require someone who can take an overarching view to shape and develop the role, using initiative & experience to provide value, implement process and drive positive change. In addition to the HR responsibilities, you will also have some responsibility for their recruitment and operational aspects in the office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management of UK-specific policies to ensure compliance with legislation and industry practice at all times.
- Drive, participate in, create and/or roll out Sandstone-required global and UK-specific HR initiatives including engagement, recruitment, talent management, succession, development and career progression
- All aspects of the recruitment process, including interviewing & onboarding Induction
- Assist global HR team to manage annual review process in the UK
- Assist global HR team to manage annual pay process in the UK
- Providing line management support to the UK team.
- Upskill management capabilities
- Roll out global L&D initiatives
- Improve employee engagement
- Ensure HR systems are maintained and updated on a timely basis and everything properly documented and shared on appropriate Team channels.
- Undertake HR projects as required
- Maintain knowledge of current legislation changes and best practice
- Develop & maintain relationships with external providers
- Maintain office H&S compliance
- Provide general office management, including office/facilities management.
- Contribute to global HR team initiatives and workload sharing
- Initiate and conduct new employee onboarding and off boarding including exit interviews
- Comply with annual processes to input into the global initiatives
- Support and guide Sandstone managers in grievance investigations and processes
- Assist managers to manage all UK employee queries and issues
- Lift employee experience through L & D and employee well-being initiatives UK point of contact for hiring managers, line managers, employees and the global HR team.
- Any other duties deemed appropriate for the role
About You:
- CIPD qualified Level 7 would be highly desirable
- Up to date working knowledge of HR best practice and a thorough understanding of practical employment law, recruitment and training and development is essential
- Proven experience of working at advisor/business partner level in a generalist HR environment
- Work independently with minimal supervision on own tasks.
- Flexible attitude and ability to perform under pressure.
