Our client, an independent specialist media agency is hiring for a Senior Media Executive/Media Planner Buyer - this is an exciting and varied opportunity to become a valued and integral member of a dynamic, forward-thinking and successful organisation, working across a range of interesting clients.
You’ll be expected to help manage a best in class service for clients, as well as develop innovative solutions for their business needs. You’ll support the account team, develop strong industry and internal network relationships in order to manage day to day activity.
We are open to considering an Account Executive with at least 12 months media agency experience looking to step up, or a Senior Account Executive who is looking for a fresh challenge and an opportunity to develop skills working with a large global client.
The role:
Working across several national clients some of the key responsibilities will include:
- Source media information, media packs and other information to help the planning process in a timely and efficient manner
- Develop knowledge and understanding of relevant target audience and clients’ overall business operations and their objectives.
- Develop a good working relationship with clients and creative agencies.
- Develop a knowledge of and relationship with the media, to include identifying and understanding the requirements of the target media.
- Developing a good working relationship with the relevant contact at the media
- Assessing potential opportunities for the client – short term space, positions, relevant supplements/features
- Help prepare for client meetings.
- Meet with media owners to find out/learn about their offering and its relevance to the client
- Book schedules where approved by clients under the supervision of the account directors. This may involve negotiation.
- Liaise with creative agencies who are supplying copy – making sure they are aware of deadlines and copy contact details.
The ideal candidate will:
- Possess previous media agency planning experience, with a working knowledge and understanding of all channels
- Possess excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Strong IT skills across MS Office, including Excel
- Be hungry to learn every new channel and developments for all media channels.
- Be curious about the worlds of business, audiences, marketing, comms and media.

The successful candidate can expect a highly competitive starting salary (c. £27,500) based on experience), + bonus + benefits.
This role will be based in the Central London HQ 2-3 days week.
