Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) is a leading UK charity focused on improving the health and dignity of Palestinians affected by conflict and displacement. Operating in the occupied Palestinian territory and Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon, MAP provides crucial health and medical care, especially in crisis zones like Gaza. As part of our growth to meet the increasing needs of these communities, we are expanding our team.


The VIP and Artist Engagement Manager will develop and manage a portfolio of VIPs, artists, social media influencers, and other ambassadors. This role involves creating opportunities for these individuals to partner with MAP, raising awareness of our work, and engaging with UK and international public relations.


Duties & Responsibilities


  • Develop and manage a portfolio of VIPs, artists, creatives, social media influencers, and external ambassadors to raise MAP’s profile and promote fundraising appeals and advocacy campaigns.
  • Research, identify, and approach relevant artists and industry contacts, utilizing opportunities, partnerships, and channels, and communicate regularly with artists and agents.
  • Produce briefing materials, ‘case for support’ packages, and other materials to build trust and deepen talent engagement.
  • Develop systems and processes for tracking relationships and create supporter journeys to deepen new VIP supporters' engagement.
  • Collaborate with digital communications and fundraising colleagues to integrate VIPs and influencers into online campaigns, boosting reach through shares and bespoke content.
  • Work with media and communications colleagues to develop A/V content with talent and promote MAP through traditional and new media.
  • Attend events and networking opportunities to cultivate and solicit support across the creative industry, including events outside traditional working hours.
  • Collaborate with fundraising and ACT colleagues to develop and manage public and private events, liaising with suppliers and speakers.


Experience


  • Proven experience representing organizations with celebrities, managers, agents, and publicists for impactful media coverage, campaigning, and growth.
  • Significant experience building trusting and impactful relationships with high-profile individuals & agents for charities and causes and converting initial contact into long-term engagement.
  • Demonstrable experience of engaging artists on social media campaigns.
  • Demonstrable project management experience working on complex, high-profile events / projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience working with creatives and suppliers to develop A/V products for campaigns, including videos, photography, and voiceover.
  • Skilled at communicating between multiple individuals across various locations both internally at MAP, and externally with agents, creatives and celebrities.
  • Skilled in writing reports, managing budgets, updating & maintaining databases.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in social media; capable of engaging and influencing new target audiences through artists, creatives, and other talent.
  • Strong, strategic understanding of leveraging celebrity and influencer contacts for fundraising and campaigning, connecting online and offline engagement for impact.
  • Knowledge of ethical charity communications; ability to engage artists and talent while amplifying affected communities' voices.
