MacGregor Black are partnering with an FMCG business on the search for an Operations Manager. This is a perm role based in Greater Manchester.


Key Responsibilities


  • Responsible for driving site Health and Safety (H&S) policy to follow company & statutory regulations & guidelines
  • Accountable for delivering departmental quality improvement plans achieving continual improvement
  • Accountable for mentoring, developing and leading team members to deliver continuously improving operating performance and conformance to plan.
  • Responsible for developing and delivering departmental cost reduction in line with Budget targets.
  • Facilitate the creation of a dynamic performance orientated culture with aligned and motivated people, ensuring that recognition and financial rewards are clearly linked to measurable performance at all levels
  • Responsible for the motivation of your team, for leading, mentoring and performance management, to ensure skill and proficiency levels are maintained
  • Ensure that all manufacturing metrics are well defined, understood by all and achieved
  • To set high standards and lead by example to facilitate continuous improvement


What are we looking for?


  • Proven manufacturing experience in leadership positions
  • Managing people in a change environment
  • Experience of working in a cross functional team using LEAN tools and techniques
  • Strong communicator and natural motivator
  • Experience of operating in a FMCG organisation
  • Project Management skills
  • The ability to handle multiple workstreams, whilst being able to effectively prioritise to ensure KPI’s and targets are successfully achieved.
  • Specific experience of managing continuous improvement processes
  • Previous budget management experience
