II. JOB PURPOSE

To consistently grow the Corporate Bank relationships, business and revenue in a profitable and cost-effective manner through management of a portfolio of Global IO/NGO/DFI names across the Ecobank network.


III. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


SALES AND RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT

  • Develop, maintain and leverage relationships with IO clients, maximising income generation and business development opportunities; attain targeted sales goals, performance targets and customer satisfaction through the effective management of resources.
  • Act as single point of accountability for a portfolio of global clients, with responsibility for the global account strategy for the portfolio.
  • Build and leverage on relationships across functional groups and more broadly across the bank to provide a full range of effective client-focused solutions; collaborate effectively for the overall benefit of bank and client.
  • Develop strategic plans and conduct joint sales pitches and targeted reviews with Group Heads, CB Cluster Heads, CB Heads, LAMs and product teams with emphasis on cross selling to maximise wallet share for Ecobank.
  • Provide strategic analytical support to Head of International Organisations & DFIs, USA, UK & Europe and Group Head, Financial Institutions & International Organisations to support the business growth across network; providing analytics and business intelligence to regional teams and RMs to support growth plans and marketing strategies; challenging and supporting development of MIS as necessary to strengthen performance analysis.
  • Provide expert advice and support to the wider IO team, and leadership to the network of Local Account Managers (LAMs) fostering partnership through regular structured communication via conference calls, online meeting or formal emails, clearly outlining key projects, opportunities, issues, products transitions, etc.
  • Support the Head of International Organisations & DFIs, USA, UK & Europe and Group Head, Financial Institutions & International Organisations in delivering the wider IO strategy.
  • Promote customer focus strategy, communications and customer engagement. Ensure customer focus is built into the IO culture, putting the client at the centre of all activity.
  • Strengthen the Ecobank brand and the Group’s reputation, representing the bank at external events, and in all dealings with the client base.
  • Support the drive for operational excellence ensuring consistency across subsidiaries, policy, processes, execution and customer impact, challenging where necessary and contributing to long-term improvements.


BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT


  • Identify opportunities and engage with Corporate Bank Product Groups, and as appropriate Ecobank Commercial and Consumer Bank teams to develop joint engagement plan.
  • Identify and implement marketing strategies and harness business development opportunities; drive the Group’s digitisation strategy.
  • Develop executive contact plan and arrange meetings with appropriate Ecobank Group Heads.


IV. JOB CONTEXT


  • The role involves occasional travel and frequent interaction with Senior and Executive staff. The incumbent should be customer & results focused, highly self-motivated with a professional approach.
  • A thorough understanding of the development sector and its dynamics is key, together with an established network of contacts across the sector to underpin growth and expansion.
  • The role sits in the Ecobank London Representative Office.


V. JOB SCALE


CORPORATE BANKING: Manage a portfolio of Global IO/NGO relationships, principally US and Europe-based.


OTHERS: Constant interaction with Senior and Executive colleagues principally from

VI. JOB PROFILE


EXPERIENCE

  • At least 10 years origination & sales experience with good sales track record, preferably in Wholesale/Corporate Banking
  • Ability to interact and negotiate with the client organization at the global decision-making level
  • Customer focused & results orientated
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to harness the Group’s resources to sell and deliver customer solutions
  • Good organizational and time management skills are highly desirable
  • Result driven team player
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Inclusive, flexible, internationally aware and sensitive to client culture.


EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field of study.


PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

  • French-speaking ability will be an advantage.
  • Collaborative working style and strong communication skills are required, to develop and maintain effective working relationships both externally and internally with colleagues across the Ecobank network.
  • Self-starter capable of working on own initiative.
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills.
