Associate Development Team Overview

The Associate Development team is comprised of learning, leadership and talent development specialists working alongside HR Business Partners and Business Leaders. The Associate Development team supports Lockton’s overall business goals by serving as partners, consultants, and enablers - helping to engage and activate the potential in all our people. It's the most important thing we do and it's our purpose.


The role of Associate Development Manager includes the following;

  • Understand business needs and designs, delivers and evaluates the core curriculum for our growing range of Lockton programmes spanning early careers, emerging talent, aspiring leaders and senior managers, and more - ensuring Lockton attracts, retains and engages our greatest asset - our people.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Development Regional Lead, HR Business Partners, Senior Leadership and other stakeholders internationally on the overall programmes strategy, improving the design, and format of these learning solutions to drive engagement, and achieve even greater impact on performance.
  • You will build and foster relationships with our internal clients, understanding their business opportunities and challenges to help shape and inform our Associate Development Strategy
  • You will be a positive advocate for the Associate Development team, representing our core values in your engagement with everyone internally and externally. As a senior team member, you will be a positive role model for the Lockton culture and support the development of the team.

  • Build a deep understanding of our business and culture in order to successfully curate content and deliver training that appropriately aligns to our organisation and has the desired impact
  • Work in partnership with the Associate Development Regional Lead and the wider global team to improve, adapt and build development solutions for all levels of talent
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders with a highly consultative approach, focused on understanding their specific needs and adapting/creating solutions that support their area.
  • Ensure that our solutions are culturally relevant, scalable, and aligned to our priorities, facilitating a calendar of programmes.
  • Demonstrate outstanding design, delivery and facilitation skills, bringing energy and passion for development front and centre to participants
  • Be motivated by thinking on your feet, enjoy articulating and translating themes, and look to use a coaching approach to engage and get the best out of your audience
  • Successfully engage all audiences regardless of size or seniority, from individual contributors to regional leaders, customising your approach within virtual, hybrid and in-person environments.
  • Own the feedback process with participants, including the administration of surveys to capture real-time feedback and data insights on the design, content and format of these experiences to drive the continued improvement and impact of programs, as well as feedback to key stakeholders



You'll need to have:

  • Demonstrable experience of designing and delivery programmes with a commercially driven purpose related to service, sales and leadership.
  • Excellent training delivery and facilitation skills, with experience delivering to international groups and using a variety of delivery methods and platforms
  • A consistent track record in crafting and delivering classroom, blended and virtual training offerings for all sizes and levels of professional audiences. You'll also need to continue to strive for innovative ways to approach learning
  • A collaborative, consultative style as you will be partnering with HR Business Partners and the business to design and deliver development solutions
  • A commercially savvy, client oriented style to provide sound advice and make appropriate recommendations that will improve the bottom line
  • A strong ability to communicate persuasively, credibly, and authentically (both verbal and written) with a wide variety of personalities in a commercial driven environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to lead projects proactively and successfully.
  • A strong team player, able to work effectively with others to achieve business outcomes and enhance overall team performance.
