We are looking for an experienced Account Manager with a friendly approach to driving sales and growth to cover for our current Head of Partnerships whilst they are on maternity leave. This is a part-time role, 3 days per week, at our offices in central Edinburgh.


The candidate we are looking for may well be a Relationships Manager or work in Business Development currently - we are more interested in the person than the job title Within this role you will identify, establish and develop relationships with new clients, nurture ongoing client sales, and identify new avenues for growth. You'll be responsible for the strategic development of all sales as well as reaching profitability targets. This role requires collaboration with multiple teams within the agency, and so it is critical that the successful candidate can work both autonomously and in a small team.


We are Bad Dinosaur, an award winning app development agency based in Edinburgh. We're a small team of creative folk who enjoy building amazing, lean products for our lovely clients. You'll be a great fit for us if you:


  • Excel in building relationships with clients and nurturing long-term partnerships;
  • Love identifying new sectors for growth and taking the initiative to explore opportunities in unfamiliar territory;
  • Are comfortable reporting directly to senior management and engaging in sales strategy decision making;
  • Like to deliver a personal service, and come up with bespoke solutions for client’s product needs in collaboration with our design and development team;
  • Are looking for a role which has a hugely varied client base - and can adapt your approach to sales depending on client type;
  • Enjoy building strategic partnerships with accelerators, incubators, learning institutions and other start-up institutions to further Bad Dinosaur’s integration into the tech ecosystem;
  • Can demonstrate excellent listening skills, and quickly and accurately communicate your understanding of a client’s product both verbally and in writing;
  • Have experience in writing proposals for clients. Experience in tender applications is a bonus;
  • Can work effectively with our marketing team to attract our target audience, and collaborate with them in hosting our own industry events, as well as attending trade expositions and events;
  • Are adept in managing both inbound and outbound sales leads, as well as follow on business from existing clients. Proficient experience in using a CRM to manage your pipeline is essential;
  • Want to have a say in how things are done, help shape company culture, and are keen on future career progression;
  • Have at least three years experience in an account management/business development position;
  • Are based in Edinburgh and surrounds – we offer a hybrid way of working and are typically in our central Edinburgh office 3 days per week;
  • Like (love) dinosaurs.
