Main Purpose of the Job:
Are you a driven and strategic business development/sales professional with a passion for the defence sector? In this role, you will lead and manage initiatives to drive revenue growth and meet sales targets within the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD), leveraging your network and expertise to make a significant impact.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Influence Decision-Making: Act as a key business development resource, influencing decision-making within the target end-user community.
- Leverage Relationships: Utilize your personal network to drive business development and sales within your territory.
- Forecast and Report: Regularly update your territory forecast and maintain clear and accurate records.
- Organise Internal Meetings: Regularly brief and update the Head of Sales and the wider team on key opportunities and developments.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Network and Promote: Attend networking events to cultivate relationships across MoD.
- Participate in Events: Engage in exhibitions and conferences, generating sales leads for products and services.
Role Requirements:
- Flexible Working: Be prepared to work flexible hours, travel nationally and internationally, and handle telephone calls from home.
- Driving Licence: A current UK driving licence is essential.
- Security Clearance: Hold a minimum of SC clearance or be able to achieve this.
Experience and Skills:
- Defence Sector Experience: Current experience and customer contacts within MoD and the defence sector.
- Technical Articulation: Proven ability to understand and articulate the value and benefits of complex technical products and solutions, including cybersecurity and secure data transfer systems.
- Solution Selling: Experience in solution selling with a clear understanding of customer problem spaces and requirements.
- Commercial Acumen: Ability to work with and articulate different pricing models.
- Market Introduction: Track record of successfully bringing new products to market.
- Strong Network: Extensive network in Defence and MoD, enabling engagement with end customers, system integrators, and key influencers.
