Oxfordshire UK, South East England, United Kingdom Hays Part time

Temporary cover required to join a small organisation and work in a stand-alone HR capacity

Your new company

You will be joining an academic institute in Oxford who require short-term cover to keep on top of all things HR operations. This is a temporary role to cover whilst the permanent position is recruited and could absolutely be a temporary to permanent opportunity for the right candidate. Based in a central and busy part of Oxford, this is an office-based role that will require the post holder to work in the office. Part-time candidates can also be considered as our client is open to 22.5 hours per week and above. There is on-site parking for staff and regular public transport services nearby.

Your new role

This is a stand-alone HR position for an organisation with approx 50 employees. Your role will cover HR ops, Recruitment and Payroll Administration and will report to one of the senior directors. You can expect to be involved with advertising vacancies, assisting with the recruitment process, onboarding new starters, maintaining employee files, handling ER issues and completing the HR side of payroll for Finance to run final checks on and process. As this is a small business, there will be times when you will be required to step outside traditional HR duties and get stuck in with other tasks to support your colleagues.

What you'll need to succeed

We are looking for a strong HR generalist who has ideally worked in small organisations previously and understands that in a small business, things may not yet be ironed out perfectly when it comes to processes and systems. A positive attitude and excellent customer service skills are also essential to be considered. Ideally, you will be CIPD Level 5 qualified and will be comfortable and confident in giving advice and guidance to managers and employees.
