Job DescriptionOn behalf of our client, we are seeking to recruit a Cost Engineer on an initial 10 -month contract. As the Cost Engineer you will be responsible for estimating the full aircraft perimeter for all programmes both Non-Recurring Costs, Recurring Costs and Make and Buy.Role: Cost EngineerPay: £35 per hour via umbrellaLocation: Filton (60% onsite)Contract: Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week, 10 months contractIR35 Status: InsideSecurity Clearance: BPSSResponsibilitiesProduce RC and NRC estimates for A220 Design to Cost projects to enable business decisions to be made. Scope can be extended to SA and A350 programmes based on demand.Responsible for using Digital Costing tools and models and ensuring estimates are harmonised and consistent with the latest references and ways of working.Support cost modeling, specifically for Composites manufacturing processes.Support successful Design to Cost projects from concept through to Entry Into Serviceensuring that the RC reduction is maintained.Analysing work package estimates, identifying opportunities and communicating those opportunities to Programme and Engineering customersUnderstand and support Manufacturing and Engineering activities in order to better estimate the recurring and non-recurring costs associated with design changes, from R&T to Design-to-Cost activities.Lead cost engineering discussions with Airbus suppliersParticipate in Design to Cost workshops and provide key messages and recommendations to stakeholders for cost effective solutions.Responsible for guaranteeing the quality, reliability and neutrality of the costing procedure and results.Essential Skills:Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in Engineering or a related discipline. Manufacturing and/or Engineering experienceKnowledge of detail part manufacturing processes: composite, metallic, machined and fabricated, assemblyKnowledge of non recurring impacts when industrializing product changes.Design to cost experience and mindsetAbility to understand and explain design, manufacturing and costing details, while at the same time being able to step back to get the macro view for the complete businessVery good strategic and analytical skills incl. data analysis, able to breakdown complextopics, make root-cause analysis.Team player with entrepreneurial mindsetGood communication and presentation skills at all levelsStrong ability to interact and influenceFluency in English is required, any additional languages will be viewed positively.If you are interested in applying for this position and you meet the requirements, please send your updated CV to: Natalie Dalkin at Line Up AviationLine Up Aviation has carved its own place in the recruitment of Aviation and Aerospace personnel all over the world for more than 30 years.
