**Job Description** The Chief Data Officer has re-invigorated the company’s approach to Data Governance, placing this discipline among his key strategic deliverables in embedding trust in the data managed across the company.
Reporting into the CDO, the Head of Data Governance is responsible for providing the right artifacts and ways of working that drive consistent understanding of data, standard ways of working and the principles and practices to protect Rank from mismanagementof its valuable data assets.
As the Data Governance Executive you'll be a pragmatic operator that can engage with business stakeholders and translate technical data governance messages into business terms that stakeholders buy into. You will have responsibility for measuring the successof data related KPI's and feeding metrics into the corporate risk registers.
Further this you will ensure all data governance stakeholders are updated with issues and initiatives in development.
- Liaising with key data governance roles such as Data Stewards and Data Owners to identify Data Governance topics for review and discussion.
- Helping with the creation and updating of data policies and standards across the Group.
- Supporting the business in managing data quality reporting and co-ordinating remedial activities.
- Publishing and maintaining documents related to Data Governance Risks, Actions, Issues and Decisions on an ongoing basis.
- Owning the list of data issues to be addressed in the Data Governance framework.
- Overseeing the cadence of all key meetings to ensure they happen and progress is reported to the Executive Board.
- Owning the central repository that stores all key data governance assets to be used by the business.
- Working with Rank’s Learning and Development team to create training materials for on-going training of Rank Colleagues and also support training workshops aimed at supporting key Data Governance roles such as Data Stewards.
- Supporting the Head of Data Governance with the implementation of the Data Governance Communications plan, which will include the types, formats and frequencies of communication that will be needed for success
- Working with the Head of Data Governance to plan and facilitate the various Data Governance forum meetings.
**Qualifications**:
- A couple of years’ experience working in a Data Governance role.
- Knowledge of data governance tools such as Experian Pandora is a plus as is Microsoft Purview.
- Self-driven to work to constantly drive improvements and identify new areas where work is needed.
