Title: Shipping Administrator

Summary:
A company providing global transport solutions to their extensive customer base through a

variety of distribution networks is seeking an individual with Freight Forwarding experience,

To be considered for this role, experience in the Air Export, Sea Export, Road Freight and

Imports both by air and sea is essential and have an ability to work to deadlines under

pressure and own initiative. Valid Dangerous Goods Certificate Vital.

**Tasks**:
Role will involve liaising with customers, taking bookings, handling quotations. Liaison with

shipping lines and forwarders to obtain required information for clearance.

Negotiate contracts, transportation and handling costs.

Provide advice on the most commercially viable method of transporting goods

Providing the relevant information to Transport companies to ensure customer requirements

are met.

Complete customs formalities or sub-contracting services

Maintain visibility and control through all phases of the journey, including the production

management reports, statistical and unit cost analyst

Ensuring that all documentation is completed is correct, filed and set out as per instructions.

Maintaining files, ensuring that are costed and billed correctly. Check and timely manage

invoices out and in

Work closely with customers, colleagues and third parties to ensure smooth operations to

deadlines.

Work in line with finance requirements including the month end procedures

Contribute to the general administration of the office including filing etc.

Be proactive when faced with problems

Provide quotations to existing clients/ new clients and agents, develop business from existing

and new customers.

Be aware of potential customers and look for opportunities to develop the business, assist in

sales by calling potential clients including following up on quotations

Assist with projects as necessary and as directed

Any other duties as reasonably requested

Ability to START and FINISH job

The hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm but flexibility is required

Salary up to GBP28K based on experience
