Ward Clerk Paediatirc Assessment Unit and Ward 8

Paediatric assessment unit are looking for a competent and professional ward clerk to enhance an already well established team. As a ward clerk you will act as a focal point for both Paediatric Assessment Unit and Ward 8, being courteous and maintaining confidentiality at all times. You will provide a high standard of administrative support to the ward manager, the nursing team on both ward 8 and paediatric assessment unit, the medical staff, and will be expected to interact with other departments as well as patients and their families. The team is well established with experienced and newly qualified nursing staff. Both ward 8 and paediatric assessment unit are open 24 hours, 7 days a week. The post will be worked over 2 days Monday to Sunday. Maintaining accurate and and confidential records, having regard for the data protection act. To provide a professional an courteous front of house service for all staff and visitors. Provide administrative support to both ward 8 and paediatric assessment unit. The duties and responsibilities listed below should be taken in accordance with the level of competence as defined in the KSF outline for the post. As well as providing a "front of house" service to patients and their families, you will also be expected to undertake general clerical/administrative duties in the clinical area, including photocopying, completing records, filing and handling mail. All patient details/admission will be required to be uploaded onto the patient system. Answer the telephone, relaying any relevant messages when required. Book any appointments required for patients. Ensure that up to date information is available regarding activity within the department so that queries can be answered promptly and accurately.
