Communications and Engagement Officer with Scotdec

Scotdec is seeking a dynamic and motivated Communications and Engagement Officer to join its team, working in the field of Global Citizenship Education provision to the education sector in Scotland. As part of a third sector organisation, you will play a vital role in promoting Scotdec’s mission and impact to stakeholders, media, and the wider public.
**The main responsibilities of the role are outlined below**:
- Develop and implement communication strategies that support the organisation’s objectives
- Manage online events through Eventbrite and organise pre and post event communications
- Create and manage a diverse range of content, including press releases, newsletters, social media, and website content
- Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders, partners, and education professionals working in Scotland
- Manage and evaluate the success of communication campaigns through Mailchimp and Google Analytics and make recommendations for improvement
- Stay up to date with the latest communication trends and technologies and suggest new ideas to enhance Scotdec’s reach
- Occasionally, represent the organisation at events, conferences, and meetings
- Support the wider team with ad-hoc communications activities as required
The role will be based in Scotdec’s Central Edinburgh office. You will be required to come into the office at least one day per week, with home-working arrangements to be agreed with your line manager.

- Experience in a similar communications role, with a track record of developing and implementing successful campaigns
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational and project management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team
- A passion for Global Citizenship Education and the role it plays in promoting a more equitable and sustainable world
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise workload
- Knowledge of Scotland’s education sector, and experience working in the third sector is desirable but not essential
