To support the Claims Manager - Claims in the provision and planning of safe high quality health care to patients across all areas of Wales, inclusive of the independent contractor services - in particular, the operational management of the Claims aspect of Concerns* - and to contribute to safety of staff and visitors via the effective management of Clinical Negligence, Personal Injury Claims and Road Traffic Collisions (RTC).

The post holder will support the Claims Manager - Claims to plan and deliver robust systems and processes for ensuring that all Claims are effectively managed to minimise their financial impact, and to ensure that remedial action contributing to the reduction of clinical and financial risks. The post holder will manage their own caseload and be proactive and dynamic in ensuring that lessons from Claims are learned and shared widely, and that they contribute to continuous service improvement and the highest standards of patient care.

The role is a full time post. This role will provide direct support to the Claims Manager within the in-house legal services team, in response to clinical negligence, personal injury and Road Traffic Incident claims, as well as provide support in Coroner’s inquests.

The successful postholder will undertake day to day management of various aspects of the teams cases (with appropriate supervision), draft legal documents, undertake legal research of legislation and case law and assist in the management of inquests and requests received from Coroners across Wales.
