A new position has been created within the Cleansing team for a Behaviour Change Engagement Officer that will manage and deliver projects to increase resident participation in recycling, specifically in flats and housing that use communal recycling bins, to achieve the overall aims of the Newport City Council and Welsh Government waste strategies to increase the recycling rate and reduce waste.

Tackling issues linked to littering and fly tipping you will manage a team of waste engagement and enforcement officers. Community engagement is at the core of our values, you will be passionate about engaging with residents, landlords and housing associations, to improve local communities and to transform areas of Newport in partnership with other organisations, business and stakeholders.

Reporting to the Waste Enforcement Manager, you will have excellent organisational and project management skills.

The post holder should be flexible in their approach and willing to provide support to other service areas within recycling, waste and cleansing as required.
