- Main duties of the job

As the Head of Clinical Assessment Services (CAS), you will**_ lead the CAS team_**, ensuring**_ efficient service delivery_** while maintaining the **_highest standards of care and safety_**.

You will provide **_strong, visible leadership_**, acting as an**_ advocate for clinical staff _**and supporting them in their roles. Overseeing services like 111 Clinical Advisors and Out of Hours Triage, you will ensure **_all operational targets _**are met and services run smoothly.

You will work closely with senior management to **_develop long-term strategies,_** translating national healthcare policies into practical, operational plans for HUC.

You will also be responsible for **_ensuring governance, compliance, and quality standards_** are upheld and improved. Managing the CAS budget effectively will be key, ensuring **_resources are allocated efficiently_** while maintaining service excellence. You will collaborate with stakeholders including commissioners, healthcare professionals, and local authorities to **_drive partnerships and service improvements_**.

**_ Workforce management _**is another critical part of the role. You will ensure **_staff are properly trained_**, appraised, and motivated, while meeting statutory and mandatory requirements. Additionally, you will **_oversee business continuity plans _**to ensure services remain resilient in challenging times.
