**Job description**
We have a new client at Plymouth coming on board with us. We require Healthcare assistants’ working hours are, on average, 37.5 hours a week. This role often has shift work, meaning you may have to work night shifts, early morning shifts, evenings and weekends
Your role might include:
- supporting people with social and physical activities
- booking and going with people to appointments
- helping with personal care such as support with showering and dressing
- supporting people with eating and drinking
- monitoring individuals’ conditions by taking their temperature, pulse, respiration and weight, and possibly helping with medication.
- monitoring patients and performing basic health checks
- making patients feel comfortable.
- serving meals and helping to feed patients.
- Work closely with other healthcare professionals such as nurses, physicians, and therapists in order to provide patients with exceptional care
- Dispose of waste and hazardous materials
Healthcare Support Workers Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 6 months experience in the UK healthcare sector
- Superior communication skills
- Excellent bedside manners and etiquette
- Ability to analyze basic medical information and data
- Ability to successfully work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Willingness to maintain a professional demeanor at all times
- Prior experience in a hospital or clinical environment
- Knowledge of basic phlebotomy procedures
- Ability to work with other employees in order to achieve various goals
- Understanding of medical confidentiality laws and practices
