Our people are at the heart of Wincanton. That’s where you come in, as a **HR People Assistant **reporting into our HR Advisor within our Group Transport sector for our customer Sainsburys. As first line support, you will guide the operation with expertise and efficient guidance on all matters relating to HR.
Joining our People Team, we work in **collaboration onsite, **championing our people through First line query HR and payroll resolutions, coaching line manager in HR policies/systems and overall guidance within our colleague’s lifecycle.

Please note that this is a site based role.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Support our People Advisor/Manager to embed transitional People strategies/initiatives into business.
- Drive colleague engagement, act as a HR Champion for site and promote surveys, participation and communication of feedback outcomes.
- 1st line query resolution of basic HR/Payroll queries
- Payroll administration to ensure time & attendance is accurately reflected in reporting.
- Support line managers to understand HR systems and knowledge to manage their teams pay/HR queries.
- Manage employee files and HR administration/reporting accordingly.
- Support with the new starter, onboarding and life-cycle experience.
- Note take and support in meetings including issuing letters of disciplinary, grievance and absence meetings in accordance with company procedures.
This role is based on-site, Monday to Friday.

We’re looking for you to be proactive, adaptable and resilient with your HR knowledge and experience.
- Proven experience in working within a HR function including payroll experience.
- Excellent IT skills in MS Packages.
- Experience in using time and attendance/employee management systems.
- Proven experience in influencing line managers and senior management.
- Strong communication via verbal and written with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience in organising, prioritising and meeting deadlines.
- Great team worker who is focused on performing in line with our values.
