Head of Fp&a

**Role Profile**:
The Head of Financial Planning & Analysis is Accountable for ensuring we are set up for success to deliver our financial targets across the Group. The role will ensure clear plans to deliver our financial targets and effective monitoring is in place to identify issues and opportunities allowing us to course correct as necessary.

**Responsibilities**

The role will be responsible for:

- Leading monthly financial forecasting and annual planning activities for P&L, Cashflow and Balance Sheet across the Group
- Leading monthly performance review discussions with senior management, tracking risks and opportunities and driving necessary course correction actions across the wider organisation
- Agreeing key performance indicators and ensuring all functions have operating plans in place to deliver our financial targets including balanced scorecard metrics
- Being an active member of the Finance Leadership Team responsible for development and engagement across the wider team and to ensure we have the right skills in the Finance organisation and market competitive pay and reward schemes
- Working with the Sales & Service Operations Director and the Customer Leadership team to develop sales growth strategies that deliver exceptional sales growth and market share gain
- Driving an understanding of profitability in the organisation in various dimensions (customer, product, channel, etc) to determine the right areas of focus to drive margin improvements
- Agreeing functional budgets for costs and operating a visible process of cost control and review to ensure we optimize efficiency in our cost base. Making recommendations to change our operating model to maximize results based upon measurement of how we spend our time, ways of working, best practice etc
- Drive adoption of Workday as our core planning and reporting system and developing added value processes to improve capability, understanding and robustness of reporting
- Working with the data team to optimize the effectiveness in the use of Power BI and other key reporting solutions to ensure we drive a single version of the truth for our sales and margin performance
- Leading our relationship with the Grainger Group Finance team especially Investor Relations, Group FP&A, Strategy & Economics and Data teams

**Desired Qualifications, Skills, Experience and Knowledge**:

- Relevant finance experience in complex organisation, particularly FP&A activity
- Strong thinking skills - high IQ, critical/clear thinking, logical/rational approach
- Excellent analytical skills - strong financial acumen and ability to analyse complex information/data and translate these findings into actions that drive results
- Degree qualified and relevant Finance qualification (ACA, CIMA, etc)
- Cromwell principles, especially Embrace Curiosity, Act with Intent and Compete with Urgency
- Evidence of ability to drive financial performance

Note: Cromwell is an International business with branch operations across 10 locations in APAC and EMEA. UK performance equates to 80% of the Group so this role whilst covering the Group will have a focus on driving the UK performance in particular.
