We are currently looking for a **Laboratory Support Intern** to support the Applications Team in our **UK Centre of Excellence in Cheadle.**

In this role, you’ll play a **key role** in supporting the** smooth operation of our laboratory**. You’ll be involved in a variety of tasks that keep the lab efficient and productive, **while gaining exposure to cutting-edge analytical techniques such as LC/MS and GC/MS.** This is a great opportunity for someone who is **curious, eager to learn, and enjoys working in a collaborative, hands-on environment**

During the internship, you will have the opportunity to perform laboratory focused project in accordance with your university course requirements.

**Responsibilities**:

- Order and maintain the inventory of laboratory consumables, reagents and equipment.
- Order and manage the inventory of analytical instrumentation.
- Maintenance and support of LC/MS, GC/MS and Spectroscopy instrumentation.
- Create and manage purchase orders through the internal procurement tool.
- Coordinate waste collection and handle general housekeeping.
- Support shipment of instruments and customer samples.
- Work with facilities managers and Workplace Services.
- Carry out the annual inventory audit.
- Support customer demos and help organise customer facing events

**Qualifications**:

- Undertaking a degree in a scientific field.
- Motivated self-starter with drive, energy, and enthusiasm to succeed.
- Good team working skills.
